VENTOTENE Ventotene (Lazio) is an Italian island in the Tyrrhenian sea. It belongs to the group of Pontine islands.

The island is full of history and has many ancient rests.

In early ages the island has served to emperors, for the banishing of relatives.

A prison camp was created on the island under the Bourbons and was restructured under Mussolini, where he placed 700 opponents between 1939 and 1943.
One of them was Altiero Spinelli who wrote there a text now known as the 'Ventotene Manifesto', that promotes the idea of a federal Europe after the war.

The island is surrounded by a splendid sea, rich of all beauty. It is the perfect place to pass by
by boat or visit while sailing.
